"kawartha lakes municipal airport"

Year: 2011
Result: www.klma.ca
Price range: < $1500
Time it took 4 days
Specifics:
  • HTML from scratch;
  • Custom design and layout;
  • Fully content managed (using Stitch);
  • jQuery & CSS3
Situation: KLMA had no existing website and asked webMade to provide unique design & layout.
Challenges: Fitting the KLMA with a relevant website which adhered to the standards set by the City of the Kawartha Lakes. We also had to ensure that the website would be easy to edit for all staff members at different computer skill levels.

A Tight timeline - had to go live in one week.
Actions: webMade met and listened to the needs of the staff of KLMA. We then provided some examples (mock-ups) of possible design ideas. webMade completed the entire website in four days and trained the necessary KLMA staff how to manage the photos and content.

"evergreen power ltd."

Year: 2011
Result: www.evergreenpowerltd.ca
Price range: $1500 - $5000
Time it took 20 days
Specifics:
  • HTML from scratch;
  • Full page custom design and layout;
  • Fully content managed (using Stitch);
  • jQuery & CSS3
  • Abstract menu
  • Custom contact form
  • Auto-add Evergreen's "recent Tweets"
  • Creation of a facebook page and YouTube channel
Situation: Evergreen Power had an existing website, but they were unhappy with how hard it was to keep the content up-to-date. They also felt that the design was a bit "dated" and was in serious need of a face-lift.
Challenges: The solar industry is large. Evergreen wanted to ensure that its new website meet design and function trends and stood out. A tight turn-around time as well as the design for a "full-screen" layout meant that we had our work cut out for us.
Actions: Based on Evergreen's needs, we decided to go with a "floating" theme where the background of the website was a great big beautiful field at sunset. Coupled with the "abstract" style menu (we like to use these instead of drop-downs), we think it turned out pretty well.

"canadian timberframes ltd."

Year: 2011
Result: www.canadiantimberframes.com
Price range: $5000 - 10K
Time it took 38 days
Specifics:
  • HTML from scratch;
  • Homepage and Gallery page full-screen layout with user-controlled thumbnails;
  • Slideshow ability where user can play/pause;
  • Wood-burn CTF logo into header (cool, eh?);
  • Main menu can be "hidden" by the user for better look at photos;
  • Background photos used are centered and fit-to-screen for maximum viewability;
  • Template for inside pages designed with adding pages in mind;
  • Each section of the website has the ability to add pages to that section;
  • Background photos are chosen for each section by CTF;
  • Custom contact forms in the footer as well as the "contact us" page;
Situation: CTF came to us with an existing website. As they were looking to remodel their entire marketing plan, they thought it best to start with a website - good idea;)
Challenges: We were asked to wrap up (in a website) the feeling you get when you stand at the foot of the Rockies...Photos were to be the focus but the website also had to load quickly.
Actions: We built the website such that the photos were the focus. By using some fancy back-end stuff, we were able to have the photos load quickly and crisply.
